I'm New Here

When anyone is looking for a church home they are certainly wondering what this church is all about.  They might also be looking for what they can receive from the church typically in the way of inspiration, encouragement, providing education for their children and so on.

History

Our church was formed in the 1960’s out of tent revivals and revival meetings that people in the area were attending. Several families joined together and purchased land in the later part of 1965, with the goal of providing a permanent location and facility to meet for education, worship and fellowship.

Don and Helen Bledsoe served as pastors from 1979 through 2009, when Ron and Katie Carson became pastors and are currently serving in that position.  Johnnie McIver became an Associate Pastor in 2015 and continues to serve in that role.  The Carsons were members of our church for several years prior to becoming pastors, as was Johnnie McIver.  Don Bledsoe is currently serving as Bishop.  You can learn more about his ministry by clicking on “Your Hope for Today”

Helen Bledsoe continues to serve as an Associate Pastor.

Prior to 2000 this local body became totally independent from the other Covenant Christian Churches in North Carolina and is recognized as a separate 501(c)3 NC corporation, Covenant Christian Church of Catawba County, Inc.

What can you expect?

Our Sunday morning activities include Sunday School for all ages, because we believe bible study is important to the health of individuals and the church as a whole.  Our worship service includes times of praise and worship, including on occasion drama or dance. Nursery is provided for children under 5.  Pastor Ron is the primary speaker and will share dynamic messages that the LORD has given him to share with the assembly.  These messages are always biblically based and offer encouragement and exhortation to those in attendance.

Wednesday evening services are casual gatherings including a time of praise and worship followed by exposition of the Word by various leaders in the church.  There is frequent opportunity for Q&A, and commentary from everyone.
